Lúcia Santos is an early childhood educator and master in Sciences of Education working at Bissaya Barreto Foundation, a solidarity organization, as member of the board of administration. She has been, for six years, president of the board at APEI – the professional association of early childhood educators in Portugal, a volunteer-based organization providing ongoing training and support for early childhood educators.
She has been working with children under 5 for the past 30 years, as an educator, supervisor and administrator of early childhood education and care centers and currently is administrator of the board of Bissaya Barreto Foundation, also on the field of ECEC and School education.
She is an experienced editor of several magazines on ECEC theory and practice and a published author. She has participated in many conferences in Portugal and abroad and in several research projects concerning early childhood education.
