Making the most of outdoor learning this summer

July, August and early September bring a mix of events, awareness days and seasonal moments to work with – offering plenty of opportunities to plan ahead and make the most of time outdoors this summer.

From citizen science activities to growing, exploring and spending time in outdoor spaces, these events support hands‑on, real‑world learning that help children notice, connect and take part in the natural world – whether through holiday clubs, play schemes or simply getting outside with their family.

Below you’ll find dates to support your planning, themes and day‑to‑day outdoor practice right through the holidays and up to the beginning of the autumn term.

There are loads of inspiring outdoor events on our website!

You'll find conferences, annual events, special days & campaigns with a focus on nature, the outdoors and wellbeing. Plus courses, training and workshops for every level - from those just starting out to seasoned practitioners.
