Happy Forest School Day!

We're delighted to join the celebrations and give three cheers for everyone taking part in, involved in and/or supporting Forest Schools around the UK, from children, parents & carers, to families and friends, volunteers, workers and supporters. Thank you!

Forest School Day was created in 2018, to celebrate 25 years of Forest School in the UK. Founder and managing director of Muddy Faces, Liz Edwards, talked about why she was supporting it here.

Outdoor Hub

The Outdoor Hub has a wealth of inspiring activities, events and information. Each section has been designed to encourage engagement in the outdoors, connection with nature and to help spark imaginative play and creativity.

Forest School

Forest School is an incredible tool for wellbeing, development and outdoor play & learning, from Early Years & Primary schools, right through to adulthood. These pages answer the questions: -

• What is Forest School?
• What is the history of Forest School?
• What are the 6 Forest School principles?
• What is the ethos of Forest School?
• What happens at Forest School?
• What is the evidence for the benefits of Forest School?
• How are Forest School practitioners trained and what qualifications do they have?
• Most importantly - how can I get involved?!

You can also read or download the FREE Forest School Edition of The Outdoor Practitioner magazine here.
