Nomination highlights
"They provide services for families and children who have been displaced. They provide activities and groups for children so they can socialise with other children from different countries going through the same thing.
Some children will have never experienced it (mud & messy play). It will provide a little happiness in their chaotic world. Lets create some refugee mud warriors!
This would be such a great addition, such such a worthy cause for all the children and displaced families😄"
Tell us a bit about what you do at your project
Peterborough Asylum and Refugee Community Association (PARCA) provides support to asylum seekers, refugees, migrant and vulnerable communities around Peterborough.
During school holidays PARCA hosts a children’s holiday club where we have arts, crafts, games and other activities for children up to the age of 15. The sessions are free of charge and open to anyone in the community, as we have found a lot of the families we support struggle to find affordable activities for their children. We often feature messy play within the crafts, ranging from sand to chickpeas to wood, as many don’t get the chance at home. Luckily we have some pretty amazing volunteers who help to clean up. We are based in Peterborough city centre so try to make use of our small garden/courtyard area whenever possible.

We love looking at @woodlandjulie67 on Instagram for new ideas that we can use within our projects - she is also a volunteer at PARCA!
