Nomination highlights

Katie is our Green Champion, teaching staff and children how to make changes to care for our planet. She also works with Plastic Free North Devon and Surfers Against Sewage.

Katie is usually found dressed in camo kit, covered in mud, twigs in her hair in the most amazing outdoor area she has created for our children and team! Or dressed as a bee to talk about pollinators. She provides every aspect of learning in the outdoor area and encourages all children to embrace all weathers. She sings and uses makaton to teach about worms, rain cycle, recycling, ocean day. There is gardening, a bird hide, a mindful area, loose parts for den building.

Katie is 'outdoors' to the core, never happier than when outside with a group of children in the pouring rain, making enormous puddle for mud angels!
