The Big Bang Research Project
Woodwork research survey

**Final call from Pete Moorhouse**

"We are in the final phase of a 7-year research study evaluating the educational value of woodwork provision for young children. The Big Bang Research Project is global research project involving over 30 countries, gathering data from, and analysing case studies of woodwork in early childhood education settings.

This is the first research study into woodwork provision in Early Years and embraces both quantitative and qualitative methods. Data will be collected until December 31, 2025, which will be followed shortly after by the resulting research paper.

If you make woodwork available to your children (ages 3-8 yrs) please please complete the research survey following the link below. It takes around 20 mins and the data gathered will be invaluable in further promoting woodwork to a wider audience, enabling more children to experience the wonder of working with wood."

Our interim research paper, published in 2021, can be read here: https://doi.org/10.20935/AL932
