Step #1 Paint your pinecone
Paint your pinecone green. We used non-toxic poster paint.
You could try dipping the pinecones in paint if a lot of people are taking part.
Leave to dry.
Step #2 Decorate your pinecone tree
We used holly berries (remember to leave plenty for wildlife)- you can stuff them into the cone. You could also use screwed-up balls of red tissue paper.
Alternatively wrap the pinecone with some coloured wool to create a tinsel look.
Take it further
- Stick the finished pinecone tree onto a disc and make a table decoration
- Add a wool/string loop and hang it up
- Hang your pinecone tree in a real Christmas tree and pop a star on top!
