Time to Talk Day takes place on the first Thursday of February each year

Run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, it's the UK's biggest mental health conversation starter - encouraging friends, families, schools and communities to open up about mental health in a way that feels natural and everyday.

For those who work with children and young people outdoors, this day is a timely reminder of something many practitioners already know: that time outside can be one of the most powerful ways to support children's wellbeing. Whether it's the side-by-side nature of outdoor activity that makes talking feel easier, or simply the calming effect of fresh air and natural spaces, being outdoors creates the conditions for conversations that might never happen indoors.
