This product is made from untreated UK grown wood. Cracks and splits may be present on delivery and will continue to develop as the timber responds to weather and moisture. Bark loss, colour variation, rough surfaces, splinters and occasional surface mould are natural characteristics and not faults.

These products are made from untreated wood and they will crack and change over time. This is a natural process which does not affect the use of the product and can encourage a child's investigation of the natural world.
Wood contains a natural preservative called tannin which aids its longevity. Tannin is soluble and can leach out of wood when it gets wet. Once the water evaporates, it can leave tannin sediment behind, causing staining. We recommend that you do not store your wood on a porous surface as it may cause discolouration.

As with all large natural timber products, the wood will continue to change over time. Cracks and splits may be present on arrival and will continue to develop as the timber responds to changing weather conditions and moisture levels. Bark may loosen or detach, colours will weather naturally and occasional surface mould may develop during damp conditions. These are normal characteristics of untreated UK grown timber and are not faults. The paint used is VOC-free, non-toxic, naturally solvent-free and compliant with EN71:3/95 toy safety standards, making it suitable for use around babies and children.
