Hand Carved Animal Benches

These sculpture benches are perfect to create a story telling area, stimulating creativity and encouraging a real connection to nature. Each bench is hand carved to order from a piece of UK grown, sustainably sourced timber. Made from a durable species, the benches are treated to enhance longevity.
The benches have a natural textured finish and are un-sanded.
The benches measure approximately 1.2m in length and are at an ergonomic sitting height for children of 35cm.
As wood is a natural product, the bench will behave in a natural way. It may develop hairline cracks for instance. This is completely normal and will not affect the integrity of the piece.

These products are made from untreated wood and they will crack and change over time. This is a natural process which does not affect the use of the product and can encourage a child's investigation of the natural world.
Wood contains a natural preservative called tannin which aids its longevity. Tannin is soluble and can leach out of wood when it gets wet. Once the water evaporates, it can leave tannin sediment behind, causing staining. We recommend that you do not store your wood on a porous surface as it may cause discolouration.
