Red Squirrel Awareness Week is dedicated to increasing awareness of and action for the UK's endangered red squirrels and their conservation. Get involved with lots of online and in-person events being organised across the countries.

Theme for 2026: How can red squirrels recover?
This year's theme explores how red squirrel populations can recover and thrive. It highlights the challenges red squirrels face, including habitat loss, disease and competition from grey squirrels, while showcasing conservation efforts, community action and practical ways people can help support their recovery.
