’Playing with your food‘ inspires learners to think creatively about ingredient combinations and cooking methods. In the true spirit of Forest School, the process is just as important as the product, although both are set to be delectable.
Who is this fire cooking outdoor learning CPD workshop for?
Aimed at Forest School Practitioners, Forest School Trainees and outdoor practitioners who want to enable the learner-led ethos of food activities with their groups.
What will we cover in this cooking on a fire CPD workshop?
You will cover:
- New campfire recipes
- How to facilitate learners explorative play with store cupboard staples
- Adaptations for all allergy types
- Some basic food hygiene guidelines (HSE)
- How to create effective risk-benefit analysis for campfire cooking
What to bring:
- A camping /reusable mug, plate and cutlery
- An appetite, personal medication
Who facilitates this course?
Matt Harder is an experienced educator in Outdoor Learning, Forest School and Bushcraft, having worked with learners from 2 – 85 years old during his 16 years in the industry.
His new book, Campfire Cooking with Kids, is a culmination of recipes developed over that time with groups of children, all facilitated through play and exploration with basic ingredients.Cooking with fire is a passion of his, and he has developed a range of recipes to suit all tastes, from the very simple, to the almost gourmet.
