Dr. Frances Harris (Reader in Education and the Environment
University of Hertfordshire) will be introducing her latest project, which is about Forest School for SEND children, with a focus on autism. Hear how she is developing a best practice toolkit and be part of a discussion about what’s been developed so far and help with suggestions for what else should be included.
Jude Vinton Founder and Director of Be Free Forest School will be running a workshop on poo identification and ways to engage participants with this area of tracking. Then make your own poo dough to take home.
Isobel Mitchell
Freelance Level 3 Forest School Leader. I have worked with teachers and young people in the fields of environmental education, global learning and children's rights for 30 years. I currently run Forest School at Hadley Wood Primary School in Enfield alongside working as a Professional Adviser for Unicef's Rights Respecting School Award programme.
Nature-based team games.
Come along and have fun playing team games designed to help children learn about food chains, ecosystems and bugs!
Alan Hilditch from Bee Outside will be running a knife workshop where you can get inspired to try out some projects.
Laura from Young growers will be showing us how to make seed bombs to help get young people inspired to garden.
Mary Barton, Medical Herbalist
Mary Barton became a medical herbalist 25 years ago after studying for four years. Her passion is in promoting public knowledge and appreciation of the healing and edible plants that surround us every day. Mary will be educating us about common weeds for food and medicine and what grows locally in hedgerows in November.
Mary is also a Circle Dancer and will lead some fun Earth dances during our mid-morning break time.
