Come and join us for a day exploring the science, research and practice of how, through connecting with nature, we can look after ourselves and others.
We will respond to the needs of the group (of course we will), but we anticipate that these ingredients will form part of our time together:
– Understanding ways of connecting with our environment and how this makes us feel.
- Different approaches to how we connect with nature and the benefits
- Activities that deepen our connection with nature such as foraging, making pigments and art materials, crafts and games and learning how to deeply observe nature.
– Understanding the nervous system and how nature affects us
– Marrying up theories with our experiences and discussing the challenges of applying them;
Who is this for? Those who work in Forest School and other participant-centred settings as well as for those who aspire to develop their practice in this area. You may be experienced in this area but are looking for time and space to share experiences with others. Or you maybe new to these ideas but are excited to learn.
Most importantly, you will be spending time with, playing and connecting with like-minded people.
The course will be facilitated by Lily Horseman of Kindling Play and training and Chris Wishart of Urban Outdoor Learning. As Forest School practitioners and facilitators they will draw from their own rich experience of relating theories and practice.
We have a pay as you can fee for this training day. Choose £70 / £90 / £110 according to your resources.
