Whether rediscovering your love for working with knives or always working to hone existing skills, Richard is coming all the way from Devon to share his knife magic with us! Tool work is one of the best ways to tap into our ancestral skills and is the perfect way to slow down, restore and reconnect.

Richard will be taking us through types of knife use, improving our ways of working with different types of grips and techniques. We will look at available local resources including types of wood. There will be opportunity for group guided knife work as well as free style carving with step-by-step input and coaching by Richard along the way. We will come away with:

⊛ Deeper understanding and improved knife skills

⊛ Intel on sharpening and looking after your knives and tools

⊛ New ideas for things to make including chip carving and gypsy flowers

⊛ Greater confidence with knife work

⊛ Practice with the guidance from one of our top UK knife skills trainers 

⊛ Time in nature with kindred spirits 

DAY II will take us on a deeper journey using all the skills learned on day I, applying them and learning more advanced techniques enabling us to carve custom fire steel handles like dragon heads.
