Who facilitates this course?

Dave Watson - founder and director of https://www.woodlandsurvivalcr... is back in Oxfordshire for this unique combination of Advanced Bushcraft Skills and Sharp Tools Day. His professional bushcraft training courses are designed especially for instructors, leaders and teachers working in all areas of outdoor learning.

If you are responsible for delivering outdoor learning sessions, in any setting, you want to make sure that you are doing so in a safe and engaging way. You will also want professional recognition to demonstrate your commitment to professional practice and your own professional development.

Dave holds the Bushcraft Competency Certificate approved by the Institute for Outdoor Learning. This level of professional recognition benchmarks a level of education, responsibility and experience working in any are of outdoor learning. It also illustrates your commitment to safe and ethical practices.

What will the workshop cover?

Over the two days the workshop will include:

  • shelters, fire and other advanced bushcraft skills,
  • consider different techniques for a range of age groups/abilities and make a variety of products to test your new skills
  • learn the properties of different woods and how to choose the best material for given tasks.
  • choose the right sharp tool or knife for a specific person, task, or material.
  • explore creative techniques with knives and saws and maintaining your sharp tools
  • Legal considerations for different age groups and abilities
