Painted pumpkins

A fun hand-painted Halloween decoration, perfect to hang indoors or out.

We used size 3 drilled wooden discs – size 2 and 4 also available. You could also drill your own hole; take a look at our drill a wooden disc activity to see how to do it.
Prepare your orange paint (we mixed yellow and red) and brushes – we used weatherproof acrylic so they can be hung outdoors. You’ll also need a thin silver or light marker and slightly thicker black marker – weatherproof if going outside.


Paint the whole disk orange – allow to dry.

Using a silver or light marker draw curved lines from top to bottom allow to dry.

Use a black marker to draw on the face – use triangle shapes to make it look like its been carved out of the skin.
